Donors to the Olsen Fund are truly the inner-circle of the Aggie Football Program. We have a vision for USU Football that includes playing for the WAC Championship and going to bowl games.

The Football Competitive Excellence Fund was launched in 2008 as a major gift campaign in conjunction with the hiring of Head Coach Gary Andersen. For the first two years of the Football Competitive Excellence Fund, we focused almost exclusively on major gifts ($25,000+).

By introducing the Merlin Olsen Fund for Football Competitive Excellence, or Olsen Fund for short, we have created an answer to the question “How can I help Football even if I can’t do a major gift?”  Olsen Fund members are those loyal donors who make a gift of $1k or more annually, though gifts of all sizes in support of Aggie Football are welcomed and appreciated!

At a time when the Aggies are poised to make a huge step forward, we are counting on our most loyal and supportive fans to help us continue to compete. The Olsen Fund provides the much needed non-budgeted financial support that allows Coach Anderson to enhance recruiting budgets, additional salary support and facility upgrades.

Aggie legend Merlin Olsen's largest and last gifts were to this fund, and we are honored that his family has supported using Merlin's name for a fund that will support Aggie football.

You’ll find special Olsen Fund benefits listed below, though the most important question is that gifts to the Olsen do not include ticket benefits offered through the Big Blue Scholarship Fund.

Olsen Fund Membership

Annual Members to this elite club are those who generously contribute $1,000 or more each year to the Olsen Fund in support of Aggie Football.

• New members are welcome at any point throughout the year.
• Your membership pledge may be fulfilled over a 12-month period to make contributing more convenient for you. Members can make monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual payments through the Athletic Development Office.

Contributions of any denomination are appreciated by the USU Football program, including one-time gifts. However we hope that you will choose to renew your involvement annually if possible.

If you are a Big Blue Scholarship Fund donor at any level you can still become a donor of the Olsen Fund as well. Just know that a gift to the Olsen Fund is in addition to your Big Blue requirement should you have season tickets through the Big Blue Scholarship Fund. It would also be in addition to any dollars you have already committed toward other athletic or university projects.
